Betsy Pace Honored with 2024 Barbara Ellis Jones Community Service Award
The late Barb Jones became involved with Caminar’s Family & Children Services division as a donor nearly 20 years ago, and in 2012 she joined the Board of Directors. Barb was a beloved philanthropist, civic leader, tireless community volunteer, and a larger-than-life figure committed to bettering everyone’s life, especially women and children. She cared deeply about ensuring adolescents and those who were underserved had access to quality behavioral health care and educational opportunities. Barb gave her time and resources to draw attention to injustice and sexism, advance causes, meet needs, and create change.
The Barbara Ellis Jones Award for Community Service honors an individual or organization taking innovative approaches to mental health care through thought leadership, program implementation, or funding. We are delighted to announce that this year’s awardee is longtime community and Caminar leader Betsy Pace.
Betsy joined Caminar’s board in 2014 and held many positions during her tenure: Board Chair, Board Treasurer, Development and Marketing Committee Chair, Event Chair, CEO Search Committee Chair—to name a few! A natural strategist, Betsy demonstrated her leadership and passion to improve lives by ensuring that mental health and substance use services are available and accessible for the most vulnerable populations in the Bay Area. Betsy has been a tireless advocate and ambassador of Caminar’s mission, directly leveraging nearly $1 million throughout her years of service. Her collaborative spirit and compassionate leadership serve as a reminder of the impact individuals can have, all while inspiring a culture of giving back to the community.
Congratulations, Betsy. It is a true honor to recognize your remarkable community service. Thank you for all you do for the community!
